I didn't even have to take it out and re-insert it, winblows immediatly started its found new hardware routine. Importantly, you should restart Windows 98 so the new Cruzer drivers can properly load into your system. I plugged my unit into my computer at work and got in trouble with the IT people because of the crap that was installed automatically. As a precaution, whenever making changes to your operating system, we recommend you do a full system backup.

Funny, IE wasn't an integral part of the OS before the litigation started, but it sure the heck is now. (Hmmmm..... Nonetheless, uninstall IE from your machine and see what happens. But, every time I remove the flash drive and stick it back in, I have to repeat uninstalling devices in device manager and reboot. Evidently, the SanDisk drivers are being downloaded and installed, but Win98se cannot find wherever they are installed to.
