What would happen if you were just to plug the thing into a windows box and hit "play" in iTunes? I currently have an Echo Audiofire2, but they don't make them any longer. did not yet :) 24bit/96kHz should work, too, but I have no such a hardware. Wow that's obnoxious with that octopus dongle.
